Sicily : Classic tour 7 days / 6 nts

1st  day - Palermo
Arrival in Palermo and accommodation  at hotel.
Full day tour   with local guide  for visiting the Cathedral and the tombs of the Norman Kings; the Fontana Pretoria, the completely restored fountain famous for the mythological naked statues; La Martorana, church built in 1143 with a mixture of Baroque and Greek styles; The Palazzo dei Normanni, and the Cappella Palatina, built in 1132 with golden mosaics representing the history of the Bible.
In the afternoon visit of Monreale with the Cathedral masterpiece of the Arab Norman Art with mosaics of the Old Testament and the Chiostro, a cloister which represents a mixture of the Islamic, Byzantine and Roman style. Wellcome dinner   and overnight in hotel   in Palermo.
 
2nd   day - Segesta/Erice/Selinunte 
After breakfast departure to Segesta. Visit   with local guide of the  ancient ruins of the capital founded from the Elimi, the refugees from Troy. Segesta was in conflict with Selinunte and destroyed several times. You will visit the Temple with 36 column, the Greek Theatre built on the top of the Monte Barbaro.
Continue to the fascinating Erice, built on the hill of Monte San Giuliano, the medieval village with stones houses. Panorama view of the Egadi Islands.
In the afternoon you will reach   Selinunte founded in the VII century B.C. and destroyed from Cartagine in the 409 B.C. Visit  with local   guide of the archaeological Park with 8 temples dedicated at different divinity.
After the visit   transfer to Agrigento. Accommodation at hotel, dinner and overnight.
          
3rd day – Agrigento/ Piazza Armerina
After breakfast   visit with local guide of the famous Valle dei Templi, founded in 581 B.C. which represents the most beautiful example of the Greek Civilization in Sicily. The Ercules Temple, the ConcordiaTemple, The GiunoneTemple, The Castore and PolluceTemple and the Archaeological Museum.
In the afternoon departore to Piazza Armerina for the visit of La Villa del Casale, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites of Sicily. The Villa is famous for the mosaics with hunting scenes and mythological episodes of the roman period. Accommodation in hotel at Piazza Armerina, dinner  and overnight.  
 
4th day - Siracusa e Catania 
After breakfast departure to Siracusa. Visit with   local guide of the ancient centre of the Isle of Ortigia,     the ArchaeologicalPark with the Latomie like the Orecchio di Dionisio (cave) and the Greek Theatre built in the V century B.C. where the Greek tragedies took place.
Important is the ArchaeologicalMuseum too, where you can see many statues dated back between the prehistory and  the V century B.C.
In the afternoon departure to  Catania and accommodation in hotel.
Visit of the Cathedral of Catania and the square where you can admire the Baroque Style in Sicily.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.
 
5th  day - Etna e Taormina
After breakfast departure for  visiting the Europe’s highest active  Etna Volcano; you will reach the Rifugio Sapienza bu bus and than by jeep & alpine guide you will arrive up to the 3.000 meters to see the new Crater.
In the afternoon visit of Taormina   with local   guide; the small Medieval village is famous for its narrow streets and the Greek Theatre. Visit of the Palazzo Corvaja, a Norman structure where the first Sicilian parliament took place in 1411. The centre with the cathedral is famous for the Piazzetta where the a Baroque fountain takes place.
Accommodation at hotel dinner  and overnight in Taormina or surrounding . 
 
6th day - Cefalù e Palermo
After breakfast departure to Cefalù a medieval centre where you can see the first Sicilian Norman Dome.
The Mandralisca Museum   is full of masterpieces.
Forward to Palermo and accommodation in hotel. Free time at leisure.
Farewell dinner at a local restaurant and overnight .
 
7th day - Palermo 
After breakfast transfer to Punta Raisi Airport for departure.
