Gran Tour of Italy 14 days – 13 nts

1st day- Rome
Arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport and transfer to   hotel in Rome. Accommodation and free lunch.
In the afternoon   half day visit with local guide   of the Coliseum , the Forum and  the Capitol Hill.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.    
 
2nd day -Rome
After breakfast   Full day visit    with local guide of the Vatican Museum , St. Peter’s   Basilica, St. Peter’s Square. Free time for   lunch. In the afternoon visit of St. Mary Major’s Basilica, St. John’s in Lateran Basilica and   Holy Stairs. Back to hotel   for rest. Dinner at  hotel and overnight.
 
3rd day – Rome/ Montecassino/ Pompeii / Sorrento ( 295 kms)
After breakfast   departure to Montecassino for the visit of the Abbey   founded by   Benedict   between 525 and 529. Then continue to   Pompei and time for free lunch.
Visit with local guide of the Roman Excavations. In the evening    you’ll reach Sorrento from where you can admire the Gulf of Naples. Accommodation and dinner   at hotel.
 
4th  Sorrento/ Capri / Sorrento
After breakfast transfer to the harbour and you will reach the Isle of   Capri   by ferry boat. Half day
guided   tour of the Island with local guide.   Blue Grotto, Anacapri with Axel Munthe’s villa, Capri
and the Piazzetta. Free time for shopping and back to Sorrento by ferry- boat.
Dinner at a local restaurant on the bay of Sorrento. Overnight.
 
5th Sorrento / Assisi ( 423 kms)
After breakfast   departure for the visit of Naples. Continue to Assisi accommodation   and lunch.
In the   afternoon half day visit with local guide of St. Francis and St. Claire Basilica.
Dinner and overnight at hotel .   
  
6th Assisi / Ravenna / Venice ( 430 kms)
After breakfast departure to Ravenna. Visit   with local guide of San Vitale’s Basilica, Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the Tomb of Dante, and St. Apollinare  Nuovo   Basilica. Free time for lunch and continue to Venice. Accommodation at hotel and dinner. 
 
7th  Venice
After breakfast you   will reach St, Mark Square by private motor launch. Half day visit   with local guide of St. Mark’s Square, St Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace. Free time for the visit of Murano, Burano and Torcello islands of the lagoon.   Back to hotel, dinner and overnight.  
 
8th  Venice/ Vicenza/ Verona ( 130 kms)
After breakfast departure to Vicenza. Visit   of the golden city with local   guide : Teatro Olimpico, one of the best Palladio’s masterpieces, the Basilica Palladiana , Piazza dei Signori and Corso   Andrea Palladio, the   main street.  
Free time for   lunch and   continue to Verona. Half day with local guide for the visit of the Arena, the Juliet’s house ,Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza dei Signori and the Scaligeri tombs in the Scaligeri Palace. Accommodation at hotel, dinner and overnight.
 
9th Verona/ Bergamo/ Stresa ( 250 kms)
After breakfast   departure to   Bergamo. Visit   with local   guide   of the     “Upper town”   the Piazza Vecchia, the Basilica of S. Maria Maggiore. Continue to   Stresa, accommodation at hotel and free time for lunch. In the afternoon visit of the Borromeo Islands linked by the ferry-boats to Stresa. The Isola Bella , Isola Madre. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
10th Stresa/ Florence  ( 410 kms)
After breakfast departure to Florence. Accommodation at hotel and time free for lunch
In the afternoon half   day tour   with local guide of the Cathedral, the   Baptistery, Piazza della Signoria,   
Santa Croce   Basilica. Dinner at hotel and overnight.
 
11th Florence/ Pisa / Florence ( 204 kms)
After breakfast departure for the   visit   with local guide of Pisa with the famous   Leaning Tower ( outside), Baptistery, Cathedral (inside visit) and the Campo Santo (inside visit) cemetery. Free time for lunch and back to Florence.
Free time   for shopping in the centre.

12th   Florence/ San Gimignano /Siena / Rome ( 324 kms)
After breakfast departure for the visit of St. Gimignano, small medieval village with its 13 towers. Continue to Siena
and   visit   with local guide of San Domenico, the   Duomo and Piazza del Campo, the   place where the Palio is played. Free time for   lunch. In the afternoon departure to Rome  and accommodation at hotel. Dinner and overnight.
 
13th   Rome 
Breakfast and time at leisure for personal activity.
In the afternoon   visit   with local   guide of the Squares   of  Rome: Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Farewell dinner at a restaurant close to Piazza Navona . Overnight
 
14th Rome
After breakfast transfer to Rome Fiumicino airport for departure.
